Childcare

Solano Family & Children’s Services (SFCS) offers financial support for childcare services to Solano County residents through its subsidized childcare programs. These programs aim to assist income-eligible families in affording childcare for children under the age of 13, with exceptions for children with documented exceptional needs up to age 21. One distinguishing feature is parental choice, allowing enrolled families to select a childcare setting that aligns with their specific needs.

Funding for SFCS programs comes from a combination of federal, state, and local agencies. Enrollment is based on the Solano Eligibility List (SEL), which prioritizes eligibility and need rather than time on the list. While assistance is not guaranteed, exceptions include families currently receiving Cash Aid or those who have been on Cash Aid in the last two years, meeting income guidelines and childcare requirements.

To apply and learn more about SFCS's subsidized childcare programs, visit their website. Families are encouraged to submit an application to be placed on the Solano Eligibility List, and assistance is determined based on eligibility and need.
